Transit Visa

Overview

Citizens of certain countries require an airport transit visa when flying via Malaysia to their final destination.

Entry clearance requirements depend on the citizenship of the applicant.

Malaysian citizens do not need a visa for trips to Malaysia that are less than 90 days.

Malaysian citizens require a national visa for stays in Malaysia longer than 90 days. Said visa must be requested through the BLS International offices in Mexico City or Monterrey before entering the country. Refer to National Visas section for further information.

Courier
(Currently not available)		 Passport delivery at your preferred address to avoid the hassle of travelling to the visa application centre for collection. $35.00 USD per application ($700.00 MXN)
SMS Convenience of receiving automated message on your registered mobile number at various stages of the visa application process. $2.00 USD ($40.00 MXN)
Photocopy - Black and White Photocopy facility at our visa application centres. $0.50 USD per page ($10.00 MXN)
Premium Lounge
(Currently not available)		 Avail the delightful experience of enjoying our premium lounge services at our application centre. Premium Lounge also includes:
1. Personalized service by a dedicated staff.
2. Complimentary SMS, courier, photo and photocopy service.
3. Comfortable ambience with hot or cold beverage of your choice.

This service is available only in New York and San Francisco.		 $68.00 USD per applicant ($1,300.00 MXN)
Prime Time Appointment
(Currently not available)		 Applicants can submit their application outside normal working hours without appointment. $78.00 USD per applicant ($1,570.00 MXN)

Following visa categories are exempted from paying the visa fee

  • Scholarship recipients of German scientific organizations
  • Spouses of EU citizens
  • University students on study trips
  • Students and accompanying teachers on educational trips
  • Researchers holding a doctoral degree or an appropriate higher education qualification which gives access to doctoral programs ( if research is related to your field)

If you are a national of the following countries, you benefit from a reduced visa fee of 35 EUR (USD 38):

Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia and Ukraine.

  • All consular fees are paid in MXN (malaysian pesos) according to the current exchange rate. It is subject to change without prior notice.
  • BLS charges (service fee and additional services) are non-refundable.

Processing Time

Please note the minimum processing time of 3 weeks. In some cases processing time may take up to 6 weeks or even longer plus additional business days for mailing of your documents.
